These are the outcomes we're working to build in our students.

It is important to have the right purposes and goals in mind for education. For many parents, the purpose of education is to enable their children to succeed in the workforce with the goal being that their education translates into a well-paying job. While vocational success is an important fruit of education, we believe this approach is too near-sighted. We believe that education is for the purpose of instilling godly character, wisdom, and skill with the goal of producing virtuous adults. By virtue we mean they will possess Christian maturity that is lived out in moral and practical excellence to the glory of God. We envision our students embodying the four classical cardinal virtues of justice, prudence, temperance, and fortitude.

By justice, we mean the moral character to live righteously before God. We envision students who are governed by the grace of the law and obedient to the gospel. We see them humbly confessing their sins to God and one another in the classroom, at home, and in worship. We see them having the integrity to express themselves eloquently in papers and speeches, while their peers let ChatGPT do the work. We see them possessing conviction and moral clarity from God in the midst of a culture adrift in subjective morality.

By prudence, we mean the wisdom to rightly apply justice and truth. We envision students who know how best to apply the truths they have learned. We see them choose Scriptural wisdom over its cultural counterfeits. We see them embrace and embody the enduring values inherited from Western Christendom, recognizing their significance in today's world. We see them equipped with the tools and discernment needed to continually grow in their knowledge and practice of the truth.

By temperance, we mean the discipline to enact justice and prudence. We envision students who are governed by God’s word rather than their desires. We see them devoted to mastering themselves and their crafts, pursuing daily excellence. We see them purposefully engaging with family around the dinner table, fostering meaningful connections rather than slavishly scrolling on their phones. We see them living faithfully within their means and generously contributing to church and community.

By fortitude, we mean the force of will to uphold justice, prudence, and temperance in adversity. We envision our students courageously living out their convictions in the face of a hostile world. We see them contending for what is good in the town square, fighting with integrity. We see them asserting what is true against the woke mob, never capitulating to slander and intimidation. We see them creating what is beautiful amidst a flood of banality, content that excellence brings its own reward.
